  • Field Operations Technician – Permanent and full-time based in Bolton (Full time)

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Operations Technician to join the team at this pivotal stage of our growth and development.

     

    You will report directly to the Field Quality Manager and the role is permanent and full-time.

     

    This role works closely with the Field Quality Manager and the Technical Director, other key stakeholders and customers to support a network of outdoor advertising screens.  This is primarily in the UK with some European travel as our network continues to grow in the future.

     

    The role is split between site and field based requiring skills in diagnosing, identifying and resolving issues in electronics and electro-mechanical assemblies with technical experience in supporting products and maintenance operation in the field.

     

    A flair for quickly understanding engineering problems, implementing corrective measures and demonstrating enthusiasm to grow and learn to support Amscreen in continually improving product quality and maximising customer service is a key element of this role.

    The key responsibilities and accountabilities of the role include:

    • Providing field support to clients for maintenance, service, fault finding and repair of outdoor screens (UK & Europe) to meet customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
    • Identifying, investigating and understanding the root cause of product issues
    • Working with all stakeholders to continually improve product quality
    • Where required, supporting and working with the engineering and factory teams
    • Providing input to technical documentation
    • Aiding the training and education of clients

    The successful applicant will have a minimum of three years’ electronics experience and an ability to use and apply documentation tools. Experience of technical support in the field and in the manufacturing test of electronic, electrical and mechanical products is desirable as is a knowledge of large outdoor advertising screens and IT and communication networking. Moreover, experience of remote monitoring software and associated diagnostic tools as well as an understanding of civil works is desirable.

    You will have a flair for fault finding and problem solving on PC/electronic and electro-mechanical equipment and the ability to apply a pragmatic and analytical approach. You will be able to work unsupervised and independently and equally as part of the team.

    You should demonstrate effective communication and customer service skills and a flexible approach to work with a willingness to travel both in the UK and abroad supported by the required documentation.

    You should possess the relevant IT skills in Microsoft packages including Word and Excel.

    Qualified in line with relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related technical/engineering subject degree or a Time-Served Qualification supporting relevant experience is desirable.

  • Production Team Leader – Permanent and full-time based in Bolton (Permanent)

    Production Team Leader:

     

    Amscreen has an exciting opportunity for a Production Team Leader to join the team at this pivotal stage of our growth and development.

     

    The role is permanent and full-time.

     

    The purpose of the Team Leader role is to lead the Production team within Amscreen’s manufacturing operations, driving the team to meet the goals set by the production management team.

     

    Furthermore, the role will ensure that the production team meet the build requirements to the set production plans whilst operating within the process parameters set to achieve the desired quality, cost and output KPIs.

     

    The key responsibilities and accountabilities of the role include:

     

    General and Task Management:

    • Ensuring all production operatives are suitably trained and competent to meet the goals and targets as set
    • Participating in and ensuring the production plans are developed and records maintained
    • Managing Works Order generation and completion
    • Participating in and conducting staff briefings that develop and ensure accurate communication.
    • Setting work plans for the individual objectives
    • Developing staff development initiatives that drive rotation and increase competence levels
    • Being capable of building all elements of the product(s)
    • Managing stock take operations within the production team
    • Managing faulty parts to ensure accuracy of stock and improvement processes to reduce wastage

     

    People Management:

    • Managing, coaching and developing a small team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
    • Ensuring the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors

     

    The successful applicant will have a minimum of two years’ experience of supervising a production team and of delivering results through cross-functional working.

     

    You will possess proven people management skills along with strong IT systems knowledge and skills.  A knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques may be advantageous.

  • Electronics Development Engineers – Permanent and full-time based in Bolton (Permanent)

    Electronics Development Engineer:

     

    Amscreen currently has a fantastic opportunity for Electronics Development Engineers to join our team where importantly, you will be able to help ensure that Amscreen is recognised as being the most successful, creative and progressive business in the digital signage industry.

     

    The role is permanent and full-time.

     

    This role sits within the Software and Electronics Development team with a focus on the electronics used in the products for control and operation. Working with the team, you will be instrumental in developing the next generation of electronic solutions for our Amscreen products.

     

    We would not expect the right person to be proficient across all these areas, but they must display an ability to quickly absorb technical challenges, develop electronics and work with the technical teams to provide solutions.

     

    The key responsibilities and accountabilities of the role include:

     

    • Electronic Development in one or more of:
      • Digital and micro-controller systems
      • Analogue sensors and low power design
      • PCB layout and schematic capture
      • Experience of Altium
    • Design for manufacturing of electronic solutions
    • Testing and validation including compliance for EMC and CE/UKCA
    • Manufacturing test system support
    • 2nd Line Product Support / Fault Diagnosis
    • Product improvement analysis

     

    The successful applicant will have a minimum of two years’ experience developing electronics with knowledge of the development life cycle and project planning.  Experience with control systems, sensors and programming microcontrollers is desirable along with software (coding) appreciation.

     

    You will have the ability to adapt quickly to new software, hardware and development platforms and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.  You should be able to work unsupervised whilst being a team player.

     

    A Bachelor’s degree in a related technical/engineering subject degree or a Time-Served Qualification in a related discipline is required.

     

    Training and mentoring will be provided for the successful candidate.

  • Buyer – Permanent and full-time based in Bolton (Full time)

    Amscreen has an immediate exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join the Company working within an expanding Procurement team.

    You will be joining the team at a pivotal stage in our growth and development having recently invested in a brand-new purpose-built facility which represents our ambitious expansion plans.

    The successful applicant will support the Procurement Manager in line with Amscreen’s annual purchasing strategy with specific responsibility for managing commodities in line with MRP and sourcing to support business requirements.

    You will have a sound knowledge for the procurement and specification of raw materials and propriety items used in a fast-paced electronics / engineering environment with active involvement in cross-functional working to source customer requirements and ensure the supplier can meet the expectations of our customer.

     

    The key responsibilities and accountabilities of the role include:

    • Purchasing of materials and services
    • Maintaining accurate system data for suppliers, lead time, pricing, due dates, batch sizes and cost price field for new items.
    • Building and developing excellent supplier relationships
    • Pro-actively expediting in full to suit business requirements and ensuring all areas are executed to alleviate and overcome problematic due dates.
    • Attending weekly production meetings to provide relevant updates as soon as available in addition to monthly KPI verification of results and achievements
    • Ensuring adherence to policies and procedures relating to purchasing, quality management and health and safety

     

    The successful applicant will ideally have an electronics engineering background and relevant experience within an engineering purchasing / supply chain environment and be proficient in the use of MS Office including Excel, MRP / ERP systems.

    You will demonstrate strong communication skills both verbal and written at all levels in the business with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously as well as being a team player and results driven.

    CIPS qualified or working towards is desirable.
